Goeun earned her B.S. in Psychology with a Global Health Studies Certificate from Yale University in 2025. Before joining the BABLab, she worked with Dr. Ibrahim Karim at Yale Child Study Center’s Emotion and Systems Neuroscience Lab and with Dr. Marc Potenza in the Division of Addiction Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine.

Through her research, she hopes to better understand how children and adolescents adapt and thrive in the face of adversity. She is particularly interested in emotion regulation, trauma and resilience, the neural mechanisms underlying risk in youth, and family-centered approaches to preventing and treating psychopathology.

Originally from Los Angeles, Goeun is always happy to chat about life on the West Coast versus the East Coast!
